Bank Branches Out

The Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has approved a new branch for The Bank of Fayetteville.r

The 3,740-SF building is planned for Wedington Place, a subdivision on Wedington Drive just to west of Interstate 540 in Fayetteville. Bank officials are currently going through the large-scale development process with the Fayetteville Planning Commission, said Gary Garton, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the bank.r

“We had this thing on the drawing board about five years ago and got cold feet,” Garton said.r

If the plans are approved and construction begins soon, the branch could be open by late May or early June, he said.r

The new location will be the seventh for The Bank of Fayetteville, including the main location on the downtown Fayetteville square. r
