The owners of the Campus Book Store in Fayetteville paid $1.68 million for the shopping center that’s attached to their bookshop at 624 W. Dickson St. r
James and Terry Barnes now own 60 percent of the shopping center. Jim Batcheller owns the remaining 40 percent. All of the owners live in Little Rock.r
The shopping center was sold by Janice Fuller and Mike Taylor in August. Fuller and Taylor had owned it since 1989. The building has 5,745 SF of heated space, according to county records.r
In the 1960s, the Campus Book Store building was home to Palace Drug Store. r
The bookstore was operated by Wallace’s Bookstores Inc. of Lexington, Ky., until that company filed for bankruptcy and sold it to the Barneses and Batcheller in 2001.r
The Barneses and Batcheller also own two bookstores in Conway and one each in Arkadelphia, Russellville and Gainesville, Fla.
