D-G Tells Wal-Mart How the Cow Ate the Cabbage (Opinion)

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette had an excellent editorial on Oct. 30 about 245 illegal workers being nabbed by U.S. immigration agents at 61 Wal-Mart stores.r

The gist of the editorial is that it’s time for Wal-Mart to be open and honest with the public, which would result in fewer headaches in the long run for the world’s largest company.r

“Even when the news is good, the company is tight-lipped,” the editorial read. “This time, its carefully nurtured image as a down-home champion of small-town life is being challenged. It’s time for a change in tactics — to full disclosure.”r

We couldn’t agree more. Openness and honesty foster trust, something Wal-Mart has never really had with the media.r
