American Concrete Comes to Rogers

David Stephenson and Rushard Hudson have a new concrete operation in Rogers. r

The two bought a franchise in June for $10,000 from Concrete Coatings Inc. of Salt Lake City and have named their business American Concrete Concepts Inc.r

Stephenson said they incurred additional startup costs of about $10,000 for pre-purchase products and tools. The firm employs seven people.r

Rushard and Stephenson, both transplanted from Houston, played football together at Howard Payne University.r

“We are bidding on several $100,000-plus projects,” Stephenson said. “We saw the work that was being done up here and we thought we could do well up here by bringing the techniques and product up from a major market to Northwest Arkansas.”r

The company offers stained concrete floors, stamped concrete, epoxy floors and acrylic overlays. Stephenson said the acrylic overlays are popular because the process allows a new finish to be added over existing slabs of concrete.r

Stephenson and Rushard are currently in negotiations to do acrylic overlays for the 48,000-SF Zocolo Plaza that is being built in Rogers. They have completed jobs for Luxe Derma Spa and Beauty Lounge at Village on the Creeks in Rogers.r
