Weigh Systems Service Relocates

Weigh Systems Service, a subsidiary of Gainco Inc. of Gainesville, Ga., recently moved its operations from Waldron to Fort Smith. The new, 10,000-SF facility located at 10818 Old Highway 71 South, houses customer service, dispatch and parts distribution. The office employs 16 people.r

“Our move brings us closer to major air and transportation hubs, which are critically important to running the highly responsive and flexible national service organization we’ve built,” said Gene Parets, vice president and chief operating officer of Gainco. “In addition, we’ll be operating in a newer, more modern facility that also provides us the opportunity for expansion.”r

The move makes WSS more accessible to Fort Smith vendors, such as Shamrock Bolt and Screw and Airgas Midsouth, as well as to vendors in Poteau and Van Buren.r

Gainco and WSS have design engineering services, equipment manufacturing, systems delivery and service contracts to meat and poultry processors nationwide. WSS apparently has several local poultry-processing customers, but it wouldn’t name them.r
