Regions Buys Merchants Insurance

Regions Financial Corp. of Birmingham, Ala., recently acquired the assets of Louisiana-based Merchants Insurance Services Inc.r

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.r

Merchants consists of four retail insurance agencies operating under the name the Crick Agency and a specialty wholesale managing general agency using the Merchants name.r

Regions said that the wholesale and retail agencies will continue to operate under their respective names as part of Regions’ insurance line of business, which is headed by Rebsamen Insurance of Little Rock. The line of business also includes ICT Group in Louisiana.
