Looking for Lexus

Word is that several large local automobile dealers are fighting to be Northwest Arkansas’ Lexus dealer. r

But, apparently, Northwest Arkansas would have to be viewed as a “monitored growth area” by the suits at Lexus, and that hasn’t happened yet.r

Research would have to be done and numbers crunched to pique their interest, we’re told. The Little Rock Lexus franchisee, Parker Lexus, was approached in 1991 by the auto maker to start up a licensed dealership. Based on Lexus’ business strategy, Parker would make the most obvious choice as a dealer should Lexus decide Northwest Arkansas is worthy — and even that sounds as though it will be years away.
