AERT Opens Third Plastic Recycling Facility

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. of Springdale, which manufactures a wood-and-plastic decking product sold by Weyerhauser, announced on June 26 that it has begun operating a plastic recycling facility in Alexandria, La.
The Alexandria plant is AERT’s third plastic recycling operation. It will initially employ nine.
Joe G. Brooks, AERT chairman, said the company has leased the facility and most of the equipment.
“AERT also installed additional equipment to expand the existing plant capacity,” Brooks said. “The facility will supply recycled plastics to both our Springdale and Junction [Texas] plants.”
Brooks said recycled plastics offer “quality and economic advantages” for the company.
