Arkansas Power Electronics International Inc., a client of the Genesis Technology Incubator in Fayetteville, got a $60,000 SBIR award in February for the most unusual category we’ve ever heard:

“U.S. Army’s next generation combat electric vehicle high temperature electronics.”

We could only imagine what that must entail. The firm is working on its Phase II applications and expects its developed product will have strong military applications.

Alex Lostetter is the local manager for Arkansas Power, which is increasing its office space at the UA Engineering Research Center. Engineers Jared Hornberger and Sharmila Maganlal have also been instrumental in R&D.
