JoAnne Smith and Steven Spradling have used their backgrounds as an independent business consultant and a corporate telecommunications specialist to start a new business that can help other businesses save money.

The team will examine a company’s monthly recurring expenses of a business, particularly the telecommunications expenses, and provide “insight” into how the business can reduce costs.

“We do an initial analysis at no charge,” Spradling said, explaining that the consultants have to know what the expenses are to determine if they can help.

Insight then prepares a proposal on ways it can help the client save, but its services don’t stop there. It will stay in contact with the business for a year or longer, if needed, to help the client keep up with the latest technology and savings packages available.

Smith explained that business owners often have so little time to devote to some issues that they retain a costlier service just to avoid having to deal with the change, but Insight can handle all of the logistics of changing a service. Insight also offers its services to new businesses that want assistance in getting set up.

Spradling said Insight has saved companies an average of about 30 percent.

Insight is also branching out to offer prepaid legal services through the Lisle Law Firm of Springdale.

Smith and Spradling declined to disclose their startup costs, but said they expect to earn the investment back in the first couple of years of operation. They’d also like to add two people to their staff in the coming year.
