Cornerstone Apartments Construction Continues

Lindsey Construction Co. on April 17 purchased 25 building permits valued at a combined $12.1 million to add to a new Fayetteville apartment complex.

The latest additions to Southern View apartments will be a combined 302,450 SF.

Southern View will be located just off Interstate 540 near the West Campus of Fayetteville High School. Southern View will have 25 buildings and 300 apartments. There will be 100 one-bedroom units and 200 two-bedroom units.

The first building at Southern View Apartments will be ready for occupancy about Aug. 1, with total completion expected in early 2004. The one-bedroom units will range from 545-667 SF and rent for $455-495 per month. The two-bedroom units will range from 849-1,043 SF and rent for $515-615 per month.

Farmington Gets Pair of New City Facilities

By the end of the year, Farmington will have two new city facilities.

The Farmington Fire Station and a new Farmington City Hall will be part of a 14,000-SF complex on 2.75 acres on U.S. Highway 62. The fire station will have four bays.

Heckathorn Construction Inc. of Fayetteville won the low bid of just under $1.2 million for the project in March.

Crafton Tull & Associates of Rogers will be the architectural engineering firm.

Mansfield Continues Acquiring Fayetteville Apartments

Garland Garden Apartments LLC, with majority owners Stephen and Rexanne Mansfield, on March 19 got a loan of $1.19 million to purchase another Fayetteville apartment complex.

Garland Garden Apartments, located at 2000 N. Garland Ave., will be managed by Mansfield Property Management. The complex was purchased from Joe Fred Starr and Skull Creek Development.

Garland Garden Apartments have two-bedroom units that are 750 SF that lease for $400 a month. The one-bedroom units are 550 SF and lease for $350 SF. There are also a few efficiency apartments that are 450 SF and lease for $300 a month. There are two buildings with a total of 46 apartments.

Earlier this year, the Mansfields purchased for $5.83 million the former Chateau Apartments, now known as North Creekside Apartments. That complex has 196 units. They also bought the 138-unit Tara Apartments South and renamed it South Creekside Apartments.

Riggins Gets 11 Permits for More Springdale Homes

Kevin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale on May 2 purchased 11 building permits valued at a combined $1.02 million to begin construction on several homes in two Springdale subdivisions.

Walnut Crossing subdivision will be at the intersection of Powell Street and Walnut Grove Road. Riggins got seven permits for new homes at Walnut Crossing, with those ranging in size from 1,269-1,444 SF. Homes at Walnut Crossing will range from about 1,865-2,046 SF. There will be 75 lots in the addition.

Streets at the southeast Springdale subdivision include Mulberry Lane, Sweetgum Lane, Acorn Falls Lane, Golden Meadows Avenue and Service Berry Lane.

Riggins also purchased four building permits for Crestridge subdivision in northwest Springdale. Located on Silent Grove Road and Hilburn Court, the latest homes there will range from 1,452-1,593 SF.

Lazenby Construction on Fox Trail in Elkins

Bill Lazenby of Lazenby Construction in Fayetteville on April 11 secured two loans totaling $331,200 from Pulaski Bank & Trust to build for new homes at an Elkins subdivision.

Fox Trail Village is located off Stokenberry Road just off Arkansas Highway 16. It is an older subdivision that Lazenby is adding a dozen lots to for a total of about 43.

Homes at Fox Trail Village will range from about 1,300-1,400 SF and will be priced to sell around $103,000.

Lazenby also recently purchased seven building permits valued at a combined $820,170 to build seven duplexes in southeast Fayetteville. They will be on S. Erika Avenue and E. Fairlane Street near the intersection of Huntsville Road and Morningside Drive.

Stover to Build Trio of Rogers Homes

Tom Stover of Rogers recently purchased three building permits valued at a combined $491,776 to add homes at a pair of Rogers subdivisions.

Stover, who owns Caleb Construction, got one permit for a 3,200-SF home at 4202 Warbal Trail in Bent Tree subdivision. Bent Tree is a 127-home subdivision.

Stover also got two permits for homes at Berry Farm subdivision near Bent Tree. Those homes will each be 2,016 SF and will be at 4407 and 4409 Collins Circle.

Johnson Continues Building at Shadow Valley Addition

Lance Johnson Builders of Springdale recently purchased three building permits valued at a combined $468,724 to build more homes at a southwest Rogers subdivision.

Johnson’s latest homes at Shadow Valley subdivision are all on Valley View Road.

Shadow Valley is a 514-acre golf community west of the Pleasant Grove Road/Interstate 540 intersection and stretching west near Arkansas Highway 112. It is just southwest of Pinnacle Country Club.

The Charles Reaves development has an 18-hole golf course that opened earlier this spring.

Ledbetter to Build Springdale Offices

Toby Ledbetter of C&L Commercial LLC in Springdale on May 1 purchased a building permit valued at $442,611 to build a new business complex in Springdale.

Ledbetter’s latest commercial project will be a 16,900-SF office complex at 1602 E. Robinson Ave.

Chinese Restaurant Coming to Springdale

Ting Choa Tang of Siloam Springs recently purchased a building permit valued at $401,580 to build a new Chinese restaurant in Springdale.

New China restaurant will be at 224 S. Thompson St., between the Emma Avenue and Maple Avenue. Tang said he has yet to hire a general contractor for the project, but the 6,000-SF facility will be able to accommodate between 180-200 diners. Tang hopes to open the restaurant by September.

Dream Builders Get to Mission

Arkansas Dream Builders of Farmington, owned by sisters Annabelle Nickell and Angel Hobbs, recently purchased four building permits valued at a combined $330,400 to build homes at a new subdivision in east Fayetteville.

Mission Place will be a small subdivision off Mission Boulevard near Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Each home will be 1,600 SF. They will be located at 1617, 1610, 1618 and 1626 E. Wellsley Place.
