Lucas Roebuck took over as managing editor of the twice-weekly Siloam Springs Herald-Leader on March 31. Roebuck replaced Andy Klungland, who was serving as interim ME after the departure of Steve Linam, who left last summer to be publisher of the Moore County News-Press in Dumas, Texas.

Since July, Roebuck had been working as assignment editor at television station NBC 24/51, KPOM/KFAA, in Fayetteville. In January 2002, he left his job as managing editor of the Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville to run for state representative for District 97. The Ultraconservative Roebuck lost the race to Mike Kenney of Siloam Springs. Afterwards, Roebuck served briefly as interim editor of the Rogers Hometown News.

The Herald-Leader, Times and Hometown News are all owned by Community Publishers Inc. of Bentonville.

CPI is primarily owned by Jim Walton, son of the late Wal-Mart founder, Sam Walton.
