Tulsa Dealership Quits Fayetteville

After investing about $1 million to set up a Fayetteville dealership, including the purchase of a 10,000 SF building at the corner of North College Avenue and Spring Street, Redline Motorsports lasted seven months. The Tulsa-based high-end used car dealership lost its local manager and company partner, Darren Layman, and decided not to try to keep the new dealership open.

Mark Hayes, another partner of Redline Motorsports, said Layman decided to take a sales job with a Northwest Arkansas dealer and didn’t want the management responsibilities.

“The plan was to have that be there forever or we wouldn’t have invested so much in it,” Hayes said. “But we can’t be in two places at one time, and we can’t just hire anybody off the streets for that.”

Redline has the dealership building listed for sale at $800,000. Hayes said they’d also consider leasing it for $7,500 a month.
