Art Directors Form Local Organization

A new nonprofit organization for visual communications professionals in advertising and the media will hold its first meeting March 18. The Art Directors Club of Northwest Arkansas will meet at 7 p.m. at the Ozark Brewing Co. on Dickson Street in Fayetteville.

Justin Williams, an owner of Pixelbenders in Rogers, is president of the club. He said ADC hopes to improve communication for art directors and students in the area.

“Our purpose is to exchange ideas that will promote creativity for the sake of art and communication,” Williams said. “We’re going to have speakers in who are at the top of their mediums, and hopefully with some Q&A we’ll be able to share good ideas and help people interested in this profession.”

Ron Butler, president of Tulsa advertising agency Butler & Butler, will be the speaker March 18. Butler helped found a the Art Directors Club of Tulsa, Williams said.

In addition to Williams, other local ADC officers include Ryan Hughes (the Mullikin Agency), vice president of programs; Eric Huber (Vulcan Creative), vice president of communications; Brandi Parker (Bentonville A&P Commission) treasurer and Kasy Loman (Mullikin Agency) secretary.

The club’s board of directors includes James Keltner (OnDisplay), Jay Downing (Blackwood Martin/CJRW), Paco Higham (New Creature), Greg Miller (Chaos) and Larry Topping (Chaos).
