Tyson, P.A.M. Place Orders for Improved Diesel Engines

Cummins Inc. of Columbus, Ind., said it has received more than 140 orders from customers, including Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale and P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc. of Tontitown, to build heavy-duty engines that comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s strict new emissions standards.

P.A.M., a truckload carrier of general commodities, has 1,413 tractors. Protein giant Tyson Foods has 2,392 tractors.
