Richard Berquist said his wife Gina plans to open a shop serving gelato in the building at 329 West Ave. in Fayetteville that also houses Berquist Photography.
The Berquists traveled to Italy last summer and came back with the idea to open the shop. Gelato is Italian ice cream.
Although work hasn’t begun yet, the store is tentatively named Scarpino’s Gelateria.
Richard Berquist said he has also talked to Vince Pianalto about leasing part of the building so Pianalto can open a bakery there. No deal has been made, though. Pianalto owns Pianalto’s Restaurant in Tontitown.
