Madison County Record Not on Sale Block

Rumors have been floating around, but Ellen Kreth said she and her sister Fara Faubus aren’t interested in selling the family’s newspaper, the Madison County Record of Huntsville.
Alta Faubus, 89, who had been publisher of the newspaper for the past 56 years, died in August. Kreth and Fara Faubus, Alta Faubus’ granddaughters, have inherited the Madison County Record. Alta Faubus was the first wife of former Arkansas Gov. Orval Faubus.
Likely buyers would be Walter Hussman’s Wehco Media Group of Little Rock or Community Publishers Inc. of Bentonville.
“At this point, we’re not interested in selling,” Kreth said.
