Zinger?s to Open in Macomber?s Place

Angie Geels planned to open Zinger’s Sports Bar & Grill around Sept. 14 in the Springdale building that previously housed Macomber’s Restaurant. Joe and Dina Trimble closed Macomber’s on May 31 after five years in business.

Zinger’s, at 130 W. Emma Ave., will specialize in sandwiches, hamburgers and appetizers — in addition to beer, of course.

Geels said she named the restaurant after her son, Zane Geels, who is 12 years old and is nicknamed “Zinger.”

Geels said the 2,400-SF restaurant can seat 30 diners, but she hopes to add an additional 15 seats.

Geels said Zinger’s will be open every day of the week except for Sundays. The restaurant won’t have its liquor license until mid-October, she said. But after Zinger’s gets its license, the restaurant will serve $1 beers from 4-7 p.m. on a regular basis.
