Describing themselves as “young entrepreneurs trying to get ahead,” Jesus Gonzalez and Mardonio Hernandez combined their love of customized audio systems and hydraulic lift systems into Wicked Customs.

The two owners started the business because they felt local shops weren’t providing quality customization services. Deciding they could do better, the two opened Wicked Customs in March, specializing in car audio, customs wheels and hydraulic lift systems.

The business carries high-end audio names like Kenwood, Pioneer and Diamond Audio, the former starting at $400 and the latter selling at $800 for speakers and installation. Wicked Customs also caters to the client who desires more than an average set of wheels.

With various racing wheels available, including their best selling Lexani rims, Gonzalez said they have a little of everything.

Another service Wicked Customs provides is hydraulic lifts for cars, specializing in Pearl Harbor Hydraulic Lift Systems.

Since March, they’ve sold three kits and installed two, with kit cost and installation ranging from $1,500 to $2,000.

With a startup cost of $5,000, Gonzalez said he’d like Wicked Customs to gross $50,000 during its first year and eventually hire another employee.
