Elisabeth Butler, an assistant and associate editor with the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal for the last two years, has accepted a position with New Orleans CityBusiness in Louisiana.

Butler, who earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas, will serve as a staff writer covering the publication’s main industry beat, tourism. She’ll also cover other sectors such as city planning, workplace employment and construction.

“We were impressed with the training Elisabeth had received and her professionalism,” said Terry O’Connor, editor in chief of CityBusiness, New Orleans’ weekly business magazine.

Subsequently, Talia E. Myres has joined the Business Journal staff as an assistant editor. A former Business Journal intern and a UA grad, the Tulsa native will cover industries related to hospitals and health care, insurance, trucking and transportation, new and small businesses, tourism, the arts and entertainment.

Jeffrey Wood, the Business Journal’s editor, said the publication is proud of its strong relationship with the UA’s journalism school and the work of both Butler and Myres.
