In her own words, Deb Spencer has been rearranging her furniture all her life, as well as family and friends’ furniture. So it seemed only natural for her to go into business and do it for others. Hence Spencer’s January opening of Interior Makeovers.
Spencer offers homeowners a unique alternative to traditional interior decorating by using their existing furnishings rather than replacing them.
Formally trained by the Interior Arrangement and Design Association in Dallas, Spencer said she “breathes new life into existing furniture, art and accessories by arranging them in a fresh, new way for a dramatic interior makeover.”
The cost to makeover a single room is $375, which is less than the price of an ottoman Spencer pointed out, and it usually takes her four to five hours a room.
In addition to interior makeovers, Spencer offers a real estate enhancement service designed specifically to prepare and detail homes listed for sale, enabling them to sell faster and at a higher value on the market.
Spencer said the service sets homes apart from other listings on the market, and referred to a study in California that showed enhanced homes selling 50 percent quicker than non-enhanced homes.
The study also showed that the gussied-up homes sell at 6.2 percent above other listed home prices.
