Losing Sleep Over J.C.Penney?s Ad

J.C.Penney had a slick advertising circular inserted into area newspapers on Sunday, May 26.

Among the things on sale were Sealy Posturepedic and Spring Air mattresses. A reader told us he saw the ad and called J.C.Penney’s in Fayetteville to buy a mattress. But he was informed that the Fayetteville store doesn’t carry mattresses. He then tried Fort Smith. Same thing. He finally called Penney’s corporate headquarters and was told the closest Penney’s selling mattresses was in Tulsa.

The Penney’s people invited him to drive to Tulsa to buy a mattress. Although they were offering free delivery, they apparently weren’t willing to deliver from Tulsa to Springdale. He’s still sleeping on the old mattress.
