Fayetteville’s Arkansas Western Gas Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded Southwestern Energy Co. of Houston, recently unveiled its new Web site for natural gas customers. The site, located online at www.awgonline.com, offers information to AWG’s more than 135,000 business and residential customers in 90 Arkansas communities.

AWG, which has 350 employees statewide, would not disclose the cost of its site upgrade. But Bill Robertson, the firm’s Northwest Arkansas regional manager, said the project was done in-house by an IT team that included Wes Couch, Susan Burks and Robin McDonald.

The site’s new look includes tips and contacts to assist businesses in cost management. The goal is to give customers the ability to access their accounts online by year’s end. Sometime next year, they’ll be able to conduct online transactions.

AWG is receiving eight to 10 e-mails per week ranging in nature from bill inquiries to requests for new service.
