After traveling through Northwest Arkansas together for seven years as a landscape-and-lawn team under Oldham’s Lawn Service, brothers Mike and Steve Oldham decided to put down some roots in Rogers. In March, the Oldhams opened Redleaf Nursery, a full-service lawn and garden shop that is settled on two acres.

At Redleaf Nursery, Mike and Steve Oldham sell vegetation and plant supplies from within a 2,800-SF greenhouse, a 4,000-SF shade house and 2,800 SF of climate-controlled storage. Displays include bushes, trees, flowers, mulch, soil, statues, gardening tools and pesticides.

Opening the nursery cost about $100,000, Mike Oldham said, and he expects the company to gross more than $100,000 in its first year.

Although the brothers do not sow the vegetation they sell, the Oldhams offer free local delivery and help customers diagnose problems with existing plant life. Mike and Steve Oldham are self-taught green thumbs.
