Donna Hughey’s employee pool includes everyone needed to support a dentist’s office. As owner and operator of Dental Staffing Specialists Inc., Hughey places dental assistants, hygienists and office staff in temporary and permanent positions.

So far 11 employees have signed on to work for Dental Staffing Specialists, Hughey said, and she will continue to take applications for the three types of positions.

Dentists who use the staffing company pay Hughey for the employee’s temporary services. In turn, Dental Staffing Specialists pays the employee’s hourly wages and manages administrative duties such as withholding taxes and filing worker’s compensation. Hughey’s employees pay an administrative fee when they are assigned to work.

Dentists in Bentonville, Bella Vista and Rogers call Hughey for staffing solutions, and she plans to tap into the Fayetteville and Springdale markets soon.

Hughey discovered the need for a dentistry staffing service while working in the industry for 17 years as a registered and certified dental assistant. She spent the last eight years as an oral surgeon’s assistant.
