Delta Systems Inc., the Rogers PC-based automation and motion-control company, announced on March 12 that it had struck a deal with Tyson Foods Inc. to implement nine production systems at the Springdale poultry producer’s Sedalia, Mo., plant.

Jake Bushey, Delta’s president and chief operating officer told the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal that the tiered licensing agreement is worth six figures.

The news is timely for Delta, which on Jan. 15 confirmed its guidance of $12 million in revenue for fiscal 2002. That prediction also included more than $2 million in orders for the first quarter.

Delta is traded publicly on the Canadian Venture Exchange, but all figures for this report are in U.S. dollars

The deal is the result of a three-month evaluation of Delta’s software product “SoftFlow” by Tyson. Delta installed a prototype control system at Tyson’s Bentonville processing facility. Steven Martin, Tyson’s director of plant systems, said he was wowed by the results.
