Pinnacle Foods to Extend Fayetteville Plant Facilities

Pinnacle Foods Inc. recently purchased a building permit valued at $2.51 million to begin adding to its Fayetteville plant.

Gov. Mike Huckabee was in town for the announcement of the expansion. The 420,000-SF facility will be expanded by 3,100 SF. Pinnacle will spend about $8 million in construction and equipment costs.

The plant is at 1100 W. 15th St. in south Fayetteville. The expansion also is expected to add about 135 new jobs to its existing 750, adding an additional $3.5 million to the plant’s payroll.

Pinnacle Foods makes frozen Swanson dinners, and the expansion will add 27 new products to its line of dinner, breakfast and pot-pie products.

Pinnacle Foods is headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Nabholz Construction Corp. of Rogers is the general contractor on the addition. Lockwood Greene of Atlanta is the engineering firm.

Walker adds Eight Homes at Bentonville Subdivision

Tommy Walker Construction Co. of Rogers recently purchased eight building permits valued at a combined $1.26 million to build more homes in a Bentonville subdivision.

On Jan. 2, Walker secured eight loans totaling $768,000 from First Security Bank for the construction of the homes at Brightwood subdivision.

Brightwood, in southwest Bentonville near Arkansas Highway 12, will have 143 lots. Homes there will range from a minimum of 1,600 SF to 2,200 SF and will be priced from about $110,000-$150,000.

Lazenby Continues Eagle Crest Building

Bill Lazenby of Lazenby Construction in Fayetteville on Dec. 12 got eight loans totaling $982,000 to build more homes at a north Springdale subdivision.

Eagle Crest subdivision is actually on both sides of the Washington and Benton county line. All 91 lots at Eagle Crest have been sold. The subdivision is just off Wagon Wheel Road. Homes there will average from 1,750-1,800 SF.

Mark Marquess, Rick McCullough and Dan Dykema developed Eagle Crest.

Elsass, Lindsey Add to Millennium Place

Kirk Elsass and John David Lindsey of L&E Equity Investments Inc. recently secured $1 million in financing from Arvest Bank of Fayetteville to add two commercial buildings in northeast Fayetteville.

The buildings are twin 6,400-SF facilities on Millennium Drive at Millennium Place. The office of Bill Dill III, a dentist, will be relocated to 3,200 SF in one of the buildings. There is already an undisclosed prospective buyer for all of the other building.

Millennium Place is near the northwest corner of Joyce Boulevard and Arkansas Highway 265.

Jordan & Associates was the architect for L&E’s buildings at Millennium Place. Steve Denoon was the draftsman.

Elsass and Lindsey are also rebuilding the 2,814-SF building at 2766 E. Millennium Drive that previously housed the law firm of Tom Mars and David Stills before it burned to the ground. Elsass and Lindsey bought the lot back and will begin rebuilding the facility in early March.

River Valley Starting New Elkins Subdivision

River Valley Homes Inc. and President Marty J. Haest Jr. on Jan. 2 got 10 loans valued at a combined $646,752 from Community Bank of North Arkansas in Fayetteville to build homes in a new Elkins subdivision.

Oakwoods subdivision, about a mile east of the Arkansas highways 16 and 74 intersection, eventually will have 186 lots. The first phase will have about 42 lots.

Gabby Hills Enterprises of Springdale and Fochtman Enterprises of Fayetteville are the developers at Oakwoods.

Homes at Oakwoods will range from about 1,025-1,400 SF.

FirstCare Renovating East Side Plaza Facility

Drs. Larry Tuttle, Bryan Abernathy, Mark Bonner and Gary Thorn Jr. of Family Practice Investments LLC on Jan. 8 got a $590,000 loan from Arvest Bank in Fayetteville for their medical practice’s new east Fayetteville facility.

FirstCare Family Doctors South moved into its new location at East Side Plaza at 2215 E. Huntsville Road on Feb. 18. The latest loan was for equipment for the clinic as well as the medical arts pharmacy at its new location.

Family Practice Investments purchased the former Watson’s Grocery building in June for $1.53 million. The building has about 40,000 SF, and FirstCare will occupy about 12,000 SF. There are about 20,000 SF available for lease.

Larry Shackelford, CEO of Medical Services of Northwest Arkansas Inc., is the leasing agent.

Key Architecture of Fayetteville prepared the plans for the new facility, and J.M. Hooker Construction Inc. of Fayetteville was the general contractor.

FirstCare cared for more than 27,000 patients in 2001. Its new facility will allow the business to offer more health services. There are four FirstCare locations in Northwest Arkansas — two in Fayetteville and one each in Springdale and Prairie Grove.

Northwest Medical Center Renovating ER Facility

Northwest Medical Center of Washington County recently purchased a building permit valued at $330,000 to renovate its emergency room facility in Springdale.

Northwest Medical is expanding the space that is dedicated to the emergency and urgent-care services and adding an after-hours clinic with five treatment rooms. Walk-in patients can be treated for minor (or non-urgent) health issues. The triage and waiting area also is being renovated.

Renovations are expected to be complete by mid-summer.

Northwest Medical said the renovation was necessary due to the increase in patients using its services.

NWA Title Purchases New Fayetteville Office

Northwest Arkansas Title Co. recently purchased a new Fayetteville office for $215,000 from Bank of Oklahoma.

The new office will be at 1130 E. Millsap Road between Bank of Arkansas and Remax Realtors Its previous office was at Colt Square.

Northwest Arkansas Title also has an office in Rogers near Village on the Creeks.
