Eighteen-year-old Anthony Ciecalone caters to extreme-sports participants and fans with his new retail shop The Fringe. Ciecalone sells skateboards, safety gear, freestyle bicycles, accessories and clothing in the 1,400-SF Rogers store.

Ciecalone used his college fund and personal savings to open The Fringe. James and Charmaine Ciecalone, Anthony Ciecalone’s parents, co-own the business.

Anthony Ciecalone said the store will be expanded to 3,000 SF in March. It currently stocks 75-100 skateboards, 15-20 complete bikes and parts for custom rides.

Ciecalone said he previously worked at Ozark Bike Shop in Fayetteville for 2.5 years.

The entrepreneur lives the lifestyle he markets. Ciecalone rides a freestyle bike semiprofessionally, and he has received national sponsorships to perform for televised competitions. Skate parks are located in Bentonville and Rogers.
