People told Chad and Rebecca Smith they were brave to settle their new furniture store in the middle of furniture row, a strip of U.S. Highway 71 Business in Springdale where several well-established dealers are located.
Twigs Interiors & Furniture differs from other nearby stores because it sells accent pieces of furniture that add flair to an already-furnished room, Rebecca Smith said. Rarely does the 6,000-SF store stock the same piece twice, which encourages repeat customers.
Soon, Rebecca Smith said, Twigs customers will be able to order custom bedding by perusing in-store catalogs for colors, fabrics and textures.
The husband-and-wife team manages Twigs for Bob and Patricia Thompson, Rebecca Smith’s parents, who own the shop.
Four employees run Twigs, and Chad Smith said he estimates the store will gross $500,000 in its first year.
