The UARK Bowl on Fayetteville’s Dickson Street is still over a month away from its grand opening and groups have already booked events there as far away as Dec. 15.

The UARK Bowl, at 628 Dickson St., has gone through an extravagant renovation under the ownership of 6th Street Development Company — Rob Merry-Ship, Richard Alexander and Lamar Anderson.

Nedra Forrest, owner of Fayetteville meeting and events planner A Moments Notice, has taken a management role with The UARK Bowl. Forrest said she has already received dozens of inquiries about the facility, including scheduling wedding receptions, graduation parties and nonprofit group gatherings. Also, the University of Arkansas and Tyson Foods Inc. are interested in using the facility for conferences and seminars.

The reception site has more than 5,600 SF of space in what Merry-Ship called an “elegant setting.” There will also be 14 condominiums at the site, which will include Mickey Finn’s Irish Pub at the entrance.

“We’ve worked really hard with Hunnicutt Construction on the acoustics, lighting and audio,” Merry-Ship said. “This place is gonna be really cool.”

The UARK Bowl will have a VIP gala April 12.
