JurisDictionUSA Inc. of Phoenix has filed a $75 million lawsuit against the owner of Web-based technology company Loislaw.com Inc. of Van Buren. Formerly traded on Nasdaq, Loislaw was acquired in 2001 by Dutch publisher Wolters Kluwer NV.

The suit also names former Loislaw.com owner Kyle Paker and his wife, Renee. The couple apparently moved to Florida after selling their firm for $95 million.

The suit, refiled Jan. 18 in The Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County, alleges a litany of contract breeches by Loislaw.com, which had a marketing and licensing agreement to sell a software product called “LoisDesk” in partnership with JDUSA.

The bad news for Loislaw.com is JDUSA’s attorney duo is Mike Manning and John Hendricks of Phoenix. Among Manning’s credits are a successful fraud conviction of former Arizona Gov. J. Fife Symington, being among the final four choices to serve as Whitewater special prosecutor and successful mob-related convictions immortalized in the book “Inside Job.” Hendricks is considered one of Arizona’s best at commercial and intellectual property litigation.
