Bill and Carol Lehman quietly opened Squrley’s on Halloween day in a building that previously housed a Rally’s hamburger restaurant at 1509 W. Sixth St. in Fayetteville.

The eclectic menu includes everything from pork roast with potatoes, gravy and vegetables ($4.25) to shrimp Alfredo ($4.50) and a heapin’ of beef brisket ($4.25).

“We just kind of mix it up,” Bill Lehman said. “We’re just a little bit different.”

Lehman said he tries to cater to the tastes of his customers.

Lehman worked in the same building briefly as the opening manager of the Rally’s.

“They made me upset one day so I went to work for Gaylord’s [Mountain Cafe],” he said. “I stayed there for eight years. Now, I’m back here.”

The building is small with two drive-through lanes, so there’s no dining at Squrley’s, but Lehman said he may put a couple of tables outside this summer if the city allows him to do so.

Lee McCoy, the Lehmans’ son, has helped get the eatery up and running.
