Tyson Announces Board Additions
The Tyson Foods Inc. board of directors elected three new members at its quarterly board meeting.
Robert Peterson, the former chairman and CEO of IBP Inc., headed the list of new members.
Tyson acquired IBP in September.
Also joining the board were Jo Ann Smith and Dick Bond.
Smith is president of Smith Associates, an agricultural marketing firm. She previously served as assistant secretary for marketing and inspection services for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has served in numerous capacities in the livestock industry. Smith is also a former president of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and has chaired the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board. She was also a director at IBP.
Bond, co-CEO and group president of Tyson, most recently served as president and CEO of IBP.
The appointments of Peterson and Bond had been announced in October but were confirmed along with Smith’s at the quarterly board meeting.
