Bill Kisor is in the process of selling his restaurant in Rogers’ Scottsdale Center — Kisor’s Grill & Bakery — to Shorty Small’s, a chain of American grill restaurants based in Oklahoma City.

“It’s not finalized, but it will be shortly,” said Doris Ann Kisor, Bill Kisor’s wife.

The family closed the Rogers restaurant on Dec. 23 after owning and operating it for four years. The restaurant had 78 employees.

The Kisors closed their Fayetteville restaurant in March and sold that building to Shorty Small’s last year. After renovation, the restaurant at 3722 Front St. in Fayetteville was opened in September as a Shorty Small’s.

The Rogers restaurant will be the ninth location for Shorty Small’s. The first Shorty Small’s opened in Little Rock 26 years ago.

Shorty Small’s has two restaurants in Oklahoma City and one each in Edmond, Okla., Branson, Mo., and the Arkansas cities of Little Rock, North Little Rock and Hot Springs.

The company is owned by Paul Kreth.

Doris Ann Kisor said her husband will concentrate on his other business, Fayetteville Mechanical Contractors Inc., instead of restaurants for the time being.
