Suzanne Moulton and Judy Gundlach have opened a restaurant called Cellar at Poplar Plaza in the basement of the building that previously housed Rogers’ original Plaza Restaurant. The historic building is at 224 S. 2nd St., on the corner of 2nd and Poplar.

The 6,000-SF full-service, semi-fine dining restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4-11 p.m. on Saturday.

Moulton said the Cellar serves daily lunch specials, and lunch prices range from $6 to $8. For dinner, entrée prices are $9-$16.

The Cellar also has a piano bar, and Moulton’s band, Mixed Company, performs big band music, blues, jazz and old standards every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Moulton has been in the restaurant business most of her life. She and her mother ran The Country Kitchen in Springdale in the late 1960s and early ’70s. For the past nine years, she was at the Elk’s Lodge in Rogers, and there she ran what was known as Nice & Easy Supper Club for the past four years.
