Thiel’s Working

We identified Fayetteville City Council member Brenda Thiel as unemployed in our Nov. 12 issue of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal. Thiel informed us she is actually self-employed, helping manage her and her husband’s rental property.

As for the latest circus that is the Fayetteville City Council, councilman Randy Zurcher, who works as a local organizer for the Sierra Club, asked the council to pass a resolution condemning the drilling for oil in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Good grief! For a city that is on the verge of going broke, we can only wonder if Zurcher’s mind and heart is in the right place. With the financial instability of the city, Fayetteville and only Fayetteville should be our council members’ concern during the meetings.

In the past, Zurcher used the council meetings to voice his concern about freeing prisoners in Tibet.
