Lindsey Nears Completion of Bentonville Apartments

Lindsey Construction Co. recently purchased 35 building permits valued at $19.75 million for multi-family unit construction in Bentonville.

The Links at Bentonville apartment/golf course complex will be located on 40 acres off Moberly Lane, south of Arkansas Highway 102.

Lindsey secured a loan of $18.35 million from Regions Bank in June for the project.

There will be 432 units in all, including 144 one-bedroom apartments and 288 two-bedroom units. The one-bedroom layouts will range from 545-666 SF. The two-bedroom layouts will range from 793-1,043 SF. The first building should be ready for occupancy by mid-January.

Street names at The Links at Bentonville complex will include Augusta, St. Andrews, Bay Hill, Hilton Head and Pine Hurst.

The course at The Links at Bentonville will be an executive nine-hole layout. It could be ready for play by Christmas.

Lindsey Construction held its grand opening Oct. 5 for its newest golf course/apartment complex in Shawnee, Okla. The Greens at Shawnee will have 420 apartments. The par-72 course there is Shawnee Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole, 6,726-yard championship layout. The clubhouse will be more than 10,000 SF with more amenities than most Lindsey course clubhouses.

Lindsey has 19 courses that range from par-3 (five), executive (three) and 18-hole layouts (11).

There are three Lindsey courses under construction — a par-3 layout in Bentonville and two 18-hole regulation courses in Grandview, Mo., and McKinney, Texas. Lindsey also will begin construction of an 18-hole layout in Bryant soon.

Baldwin & Shell Busy with Rogers Projects

Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. has been especially busy with several large projects in Rogers.

The Springdale company is the general contractor on the new Pinnacle Hills Centre planned to be completed late next year. The $11 million office complex will have six stories and will be 105,000 SF.

Also, Baldwin & Shell are building Tower #2 at Pinnacle Hills. The building will be five stories and 50,000 SF. It is expected to be completed in the spring. The company recently completed the Church at Pinnacle Hills, a 13,500-SF facility.

A 15,065-SF building at Scottsdale Center, housing a Gap store among others, was built by Baldwin & Shell.

The expansion of Springdale’s Tyson Foods Inc. laboratories, to be completed late next year, is being built by Baldwin & Shell as well.

Ozarks Electric Awaits Much Larger Office Facility

Ozarks Electric Cooperative Corp. on June 21 purchased a building permit valued at $2.61 million for its new west Fayetteville office facility.

Located at 3641 W. Wedington Drive, Ozarks Electric is adding 17,417 SF of office space and is renovating its existing facilities. The new facility should be completed in February, with the renovation expected to be complete next fall.

Ozarks Electric is already using its new $500,000 substation maintenance facility and truck shed. The garage is 8,100 SF.

Commerce Construction Co. Inc. of Springdale is the general contractor on all of the new Ozarks Electric projects.

New Pack Rat Facility to Open in February

Scott Crook, owner of Pack Rat Outdoor Center in Fayetteville, recently purchased a building permit valued at $1.32 million to build a new facility.

The two-story, 14,800-SF structure at 209 W. Sunbridge Drive is scheduled to be completed by February. J.M. Hooker Construction Inc. of Fayetteville is the general contractor on the project. The building is being assembled by sub-contractor Hostetler Custom Homes of Berryville.

The new facility will have a small pond on the site for testing canoes and kayaks. A walking path also is planned for the wooded area of the lot. Crook said he plans to lease 1,600 SF of space at the new store.

The Pack Rat is currently in a 6,000-SF building at the corner of Township Street and Green Acres Drive.

Lazenby to Add 35 Homes at Fox Run Subdivision

Bill Lazenby of Lazenby Construction in Fayetteville on Sept. 5 secured a loan of $892,402 from First State Bank of Huntsville to begin building multiple homes in an Elkins subdivision.

Lazenby is building 35 new homes at Fox Run subdivision. Those homes will range from 1,250-1,700 SF. Fox Run, off Stokenberry Road, will be behind a new business center that will include a Sonic Drive-In restaurant.

Pinkley Plans More Homes at Springdale Subdivision

Cecil Pinkley of Bentonville on Aug. 31 got seven loans totaling $744,800 from Bank of Fayetteville to build more homes at a north Springdale subdivision.

Officially in Benton County, Eagle Crest subdivision is a Mark Marquess development. All 91 lots at Eagle Crest have been sold. The subdivision is just off Wagon Wheel Road. Homes at Eagle Crest average 1,750-1,800 SF.

Kevin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale also got two loans from Pulaski Bank & Trust totaling $215,200 for Eagle Crest construction.

FirstCare Renovating East Size Plaza Facility

Drs. Larry Tuttle, Bryan Abernathy, Mark Bonner and Gary Thorn Jr. of Family Practice Investments LLC on Sept. 5 got a $565,000 loan from Arvest McIlroy Bank & Trust for extensive renovations to their medical practice’s new east Fayetteville facility.

FirstCare Family Doctors South, currently at 1643 Huntsville Road, is moving to East Side Plaza. Family Practice Investments purchased the former Watson’s Grocery building in June for $1.53 million. The building has about 40,000 SF, and FirstCare will occupy about 12,000 SF. There is about 20,000 SF of space available for lease. Medical Services of Northwest Arkansas Inc. CEO Larry Shackelford is the leasing agent.

The Rolling Pin Cafe and Guardian Angel Childcare Center will remain in the building.

Key Architecture of Fayetteville prepared the plans for the new facility, and J.M. Hooker Construction Inc. of Fayetteville is the general contractor. The renovation of the building is expected to be completed in November.

FirstCare cared for more than 27,000 patients in 2000. Its new facility will allow the business to offer more health services. There are four FirstCare locations in Northwest Arkansas — two in Fayetteville and one each in Springdale and Prairie Grove.

The new address for FirstCare will be 2515 Huntsville Road.
