Siloam Springs Hospital Calls Off WRMC Talks
Following a meeting of the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital board of governors, administrators announced that they have terminated discussions about a possible alliance with Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
In a press release, Siloam Springs Memorial officials declared their intention to remain independent and continue to cooperate equally with WRMC, Northwest Medical Center in Springdale and St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers.
Siloam Springs Memorial initiated the discussions, and WRMC originally announced the possibility of an alliance on July 23.
“We respect the board’s decision,” said WRMC spokeswoman Terry Fox. “We remain open to the possibility, if they should be interested again.”
For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2000, Siloam Springs Memorial reported $660,048 of net income and $13.44 million of total assets. The hospital has about 200 employees.
