Group Purchased $3 million Permit to Build Second ?Tower?

Recently, Collins Haynes and Bill Schwyhart of Hart & Haynes LLC purchased a building permit valued at $3 million to build another five-story office tower in Rogers.

Pinnacle Point Tower No. 2 will be about 50,000 SF and will be located at 5414 Pinnacle Point Drive. It will be identical to Pinnacle Point Tower No. 1 next door. Tower No. 2 will be completed in 2002.

Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. of Springdale is the general contractor on the building. Haynes Unlimited is the architectural firm.

The office towers are in the same vicinity as a planned six-story, 96,000-SF office tower at Pinnacle Hills, just south of Pinnacle Point. A 10-story, 250-room Marriott Renaissance hotel is also under construction at Pinnacle Hills.

Siloam Farm to Raise Variety of Livestock

Howard McDaniel and Rick Hawes of Southern Prairie Farms Inc. on April 25 purchased 225 acres of farm land with three loans from Arkansas State Bank of Siloam Springs totaling $2.15 million.

Hawes also owns 600 adjoining acres about eight miles south of Siloam Springs.

They will raise chickens and cattle on the land and also have an Arkansas Timber Mortgage Security Agreement.

Woodworks Continues Maidstone Construction

Woodworks Plus Inc. of Farmington recently purchased six more building permits valued at a total of $2.11 million to continue construction at a Bentonville subdivision.

The homes at Maidstone subdivision range from 1,700-2,000 SF and are priced from $140,000-$150,000.

The latest homes Woodworks is building at Maidstone are at 504, 506, 704, 707 and 708 S.W. Maidstone Ave. and 2601 S.W. Lancaster St.

Rogers’ Kmart to Evolve into Super K Store Soon

Kmart Corp. of Troy, Mich. on June 6 purchased a building permit valued at $2 million to upgrade its existing Rogers store into a Super K.

Kmart’s Super K stores have a produce section and other food items.

Kmart is located at 2115 W. Walnut in Rogers and remains open for business. The transition to Super K will take place in October.

Lankford Construction of Johnsburg, Ill., is the general contractor on the renovation project.

There is also a Kmart location in Springdale at 3142 W. Sunset Ave.

Rogers latest location

of Neighborhood Market

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville on June 5 purchased a building permit valued at $1.45 million to build its 21st Neighborhood Market.

The latest store will be located at 1817 S. Eighth St. in Rogers, with entrances from both Eighth Street and New Hope Road across Eighth Street from Bob Maloney Ford Lincoln Mercury.

The Neighborhood Markets are each 40,000 SF and carry groceries and the most popular smaller items from Wal-Mart’s larger stores.

Riggins Swamped at Hidden Lake

Kevin Riggins of Riggins Construction in Springdale on May 4 got 20 loans totaling $1.3 million from First Security Bank to build numerous homes in east Springdale.

Riggins is building the homes at phase VI of Hidden Lake subdivision. Homes there will range between 1,650 and 1,800 SF.

More Room Coming for Morning News

Donrey Media Group of Fort Smith on March 27 got a building permit valued at $920,370 to undergo a large expansion at its Morning News location in Springdale.

Located at 2560 N. Lowell Road in Springdale, The Morning News has the largest circulation among daily newspapers in the northwest corner of Arkansas. It will now have one of the largest facilities of any newspaper in the state with an additional 65,640 SF added to its site.

A 28,000-SF building is being added to the existing offices. There will also be a large parking lot added. The expansion will also include two loading docks in addition to the one existing dock. That building is expected to be completed by late October.

The new building will house two new Dolphin Graphic Machine printing presses. They will expand The Morning News’ current 14 unit-press to 36 units, adding speed, color and page capacity. And the new space will allow the business to keep a 45-day supply of newsprint. The current press room will eventually be turned into more office space.

CDI Inc. of Little Rock is the general contractor on the expansion.

Edwards Builds Addition to Springdale Warehouse

Joe Edwards of Edwards Design and Construction Co. in Springdale on May 3 purchased a building permit valued at $769,130 to build a large warehouse addition.

Located at 1100 #12 71 Plaza Court in Springdale, the 25,578-SF addition is to Northwest Arkansas Bonded and Public Warehouse.

The addition is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Church at Pinnacle Hills to beReady in August

Collins Haynes and Bill Schwyhart of Hart & Haynes LLC recently purchased a building permit valued at $578,000 for the tenant finishing phase of the Church at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers.

The church, a division of First Baptist Church of Springdale, will be about 13,500 SF and will open Aug. 19. Initially, it will seat up to 850.

Baldwin & Shell Construction Co. of Springdale is the general contractor on the project.

Mansfield toRenovate Fayetteville Townhouses

Steve and Rexanne Mansfield of Mansfield Property Management of Fayetteville recently purchased another 20 townhomes in west Fayetteville through Greenleaf Townhomes LLC.

The units were bought from the Bronson Family Trust for $550,00 on a loan from Community Bank of North Arkansas in Rogers. They are located at Betty Jo Drive. Mansfield now controls 57 townhomes on Betty Jo Drive.

Renovation of the first 37 Mansfield purchased is almost complete. Each unit is two-story, 1,100 SF with two bedrooms and 1.5 baths.

Steve Mansfield said he hopes to “clean up” the Betty Jo Drive area.

Mansfield Property Management also recently spent $100,000 in buying two older Fayetteville homes. They are located on the corner Garland Avenue and Hughes Street. Mansfield will be moving its offices into the house at 932 N. Garland Ave. by late July.
