Mitchell Forms PRSA Chapter

Elise Mitchell has been busy starting a Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
“I just sort of committed myself last year to making this thing happen,” she said.
The local group held its first meeting in April. So far, 22 people have signed up to join the local chapter. Mitchell said only 10 members were needed to establish a chapter. Official approval is expected from the national organization in October.
Mitchell owns a public relations agency called Mitchell Communications Group Inc. of Fayetteville. Mitchell was president of the PRSA chapter in Memphis in 1993. She moved to Fayetteville in 1995.
The Northwest Arkansas chapter will be the second for PRSA in Arkansas. The Little Rock chapter has about 120 members, Mitchell said.
