Proclaiming himself the “Toilet Tycoon” of Northwest Arkansas, Larry Palmer recently opened a local division of Arkansas Portable Toilet Rentals. His partner, Don Thone, operates the original model of the venture in Conway.

Palmer started by ordering 50 “deluxe” portable commodes to place at events and construction sites within a 50-mile radius of the Springdale office. Now, 50 more units have been ordered, and Palmer said he hopes to have all 100 placed by the end of the year.

“We’re way ahead of our expectations,” Palmer said. A 700-gallon pump truck and a 1,500-SF workplace were also part of the business’ undisclosed start-up costs.

Several big-name events have patronized the new business since it opened. The annual American Heart Association’s Heart Walk in Fayetteville ordered toilets from Palmer, and the Rodeo of the Ozarks in Springdale will also depend on Arkansas Portable Toilet Rentals for its July festivities.
