Graphic designer Jeannette Sinclair chose a new medium for her creativity when she opened Hot Java Studio, a music video production business.
For less than $4,000, Sinclair purchased a digital camcorder and a computer system to create videos similar to those on television music channels.
Local bands can hire Sinclair to assemble a live-action music video for an undisclosed hourly rate. Bands can include the work in their compact discs, allowing customers to watch the video on a computer.
Aspiring musicians aren’t all of Sinclair’s target demographic. Old VHS tapes can be upgraded to digital format with Hot Java Studio, and Sinclair has already produced five music videos featuring families and their children. Large media events and presentations are also potential customers.
Sinclair plans to operate Hot Java Studio on her own for now, and she will continue to run her 8-year-old graphic design venture, In House Creative.
