Run, Toto, Run!

All three local television stations preempted network broadcasting for about three hours as storms swept through the area May 20.

For several minutes KHBS/KHOG, Channels 40/29 misidentified the location of a serious storm. The station kept telling viewers in close proximity to the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville to “find shelter immediately.” Only about 15 minutes later did KHOG realize its mistake. The danger area was actually near the Dixieland Mall in Rogers.
