Elkins Heads SPJ Effort

Don Elkins, anchor for television station KPOM, NBC 24/51, is spearheading the effort to establish a Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The group has held three organizational meetings at KPOM’s downtown Fayetteville office.
Acting officials for the proposed SPJ chapter include: Elkins, president; Lucas Roebuck, Northwest Arkansas Times, vice president; Julie Allison, The Morning News, secretary; and Darlee Chaloupek, KPOM, treasurer.
The group is asking professional journalists to join.
