USA Truck Inc. had net income of $94,000 in 2000, a 98.9 percent decrease compared to $8.6 million in 1999.
The company purchased CCC Express on Nov. 1, 1999.
USA Truck’s operating income dropped 63.4 percent in 2000 ($5.8 million) from 1999 ($15.8 million).
Operating costs were more due to an increase of 33.2 cents per gallon in the average cost of fuel in 2000 compared with 1999.
However, operating revenues increased 36.2 percent to $226.6 million in 2000 from $166.4 million in 1999.
USA Truck noted the increase was due to increased business with existing customers and additional business from new customers.
