As of mid-March, the largest event scheduled for the new Fayetteville Town Center is a National Association of Seed and Venture Funds seminar titled, “Seed Investing as a Team Sport.”

The all-day event on Aug. 17 is being sponsored by Fayetteville’s Beta-Rubicon Inc. and Virtual Incubation Corp. and Little Rock’s Arkansas Capital Corp. and the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority.

The 24,000-SF town center, located on the city’s downtown square, is expected to open July 4. But the only additional event that’s scheduled for the venue so far is a regular Arkansas State Parks and Tourism Commission meeting on Aug. 15.

The seed money seminar is not limited to technology-based firms. But with that sector’s vigor, it’s expected that many of the participants will represent high-tech startups.

“It is very important to have the private sector actively involved in promoting entrepreneurial activities,” said Ron Goforth, general manager of Beta Rubicon.

“We are pleased with the cooperation and support we have received from ASTA and ACC to bring this workshop to Northwest Arkansas for the first time.”

NASVF is based in Oklahoma City and is accessible online at www.nasvf.org. Venture expert Dan Logue will be NASVF’s featured speaker and a continental breakfast, lunch and after hours reception will be included.
