Lolah Daniel recently accepted a new level of responsibility within her field when Gov. Mike Huckabee appointed her to a five-year term on the Arkansas Dietetics Licensing Board. The board reviews the requirements for new and updating licensed dietitians.

“The licensing process protects the public and polices our profession,” Daniel said.

Daniel works as the director of hospitality services at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers, and she manages the hospital’s cafeteria and patient nutrition, diabetics education and language translation. After almost 18 years with St. Mary’s, Daniel accepted the unpaid board position, but she’ll maintain her post at the hospital.

Outside her job responsibilities, Daniel has been an active member of the Arkansas Dietetic Association and was named the State Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in March of 2000. She also served as an Arkansas delegate to the American Dietetic Association for six years.
