Montana Mike?s to Open in Bentonville
Sirloin Stockade International of Hutchinson, Kan., plans to open its 10th Montana Mike’s restaurant by mid-March in Bentonville.
In addition to the Montana Mike’s restaurants, Sirloin Stockade, founded in Oklahoma City in 1966, has about 70 restaurants under the Sirloin Stockade name and three all-you-can-eat Coyote Canyon restaurants. All three kinds of restaurants feature steak. The Bentonville restaurant will be the second owned by the company. The other company-owned Montana Mike’s is in Miami, Okla. The rest are franchised.
Gary Streepy, director of marketing for Stockade companies, said Montana Mike’s would feature “portions as big as the sky in Montana.” The menu calls them “belly bustin’ meals.”
Streepy said the Montana Mike’s concept is “only a couple of years old.” There are four Montana Mike’s in Kansas, three in Texas, and one each in Indiana and Oklahoma. The Bentonville restaurant will be the first in Arkansas.
Mark Gillette, franchise district manager for the Bentonville restaurant, said he hoped to open the restaurant by March 13. The 4,600-SF restaurant will seat 170. The building previously housed a Silk Road Restaurant. Gillette said Sirloin Stockade would spend about $200,000 to renovate the structure, at North Walton Boulevard and Northwest Third Street, to make way for the new Montana Mike’s.
“It’s just in an area that we’re interested in,” Gillette said, “simply because of the growth potential and potential this community has for our operation.”
