Business Matters Hires Associate Editor

Richard Bedard took over April 10 as associate editor of Northwest Arkansas Business Matters, the weekly zoned business section of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Bedard replaced Sheri Venema, who is now a staff writer for the publication.
Bedard, 36, a native of Maine, was living in Norman, Okla., and freelancing for The Journal Record, a business journal in Oklahoma City, when he landed the job.
A confessed “storm chaser,” Bedard moved to Oklahoma in 1993 to work on a book titled “In the Shadow of the Tornado,” which he published in 1996 through his own company, Gilco Publishing.
