Jenianne?s to Open in February
Christy’s Kitchen, Nibbles Emporium plan merger of stores
By the first week of February, Tommy Stitt plans to open his first restaurant, Jenianne’s on Center, at 31 E. Center St. in downtown Fayetteville.
“They need some place they can get in and out of for 5 bucks,” he said of the downtown lunch crowd. “What I am going to do is have the same high-quality food at blue-collar prices. There’s not one thing on our menu that will exceed $5.”
Stitt, 30, grew up in West Virginia and Maryland, where he managed two restaurants, Ratsie’s and a Uno’s Pizzeria.
Stitt moved to Fayetteville to go to law school but decided to become a restaurateur instead.
Jenianne’s, which is named for Stitt’s late mother, will serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. those days.
The 550-SF restaurant will seat 14 to 16 people — 10 at an 18-foot-long bar running through the middle of the business and four to six more diners at two bistro tables.
For breakfast, Jennianne’s will serve danishes, strudels and other items prepared by Rick’s Bakery of Fayetteville. For lunch, the restaurant will serve sandwiches, soups, hot dogs and a pepperoni roll in an Italian tomato-based sauce.
Stitt is playing off a retro theme with pastel yellow and green colors for the interior and by serving Coca-Cola in 8-ounce glass bottles.
Stitt also hopes to develop a clientele for carry-out foods. He plans to take orders via the Internet as soon as the business opens and develops a Web page.
